‘I was delighted to find a networking group for local business women who meet regularly, chat and share business ideas.  I came away from my first FODBWA meeting inspired and motivated and very pleased to have become a member of this innovative group of working women.  The lunch was excellent too!’

Welcome to the Forest of Dean Businesswomens Association

The Forest of Dean Business Women’s Association is a network of both fledgling and established companies within and around the Forest of Dean. Set up to provide support and a point of contact, our aim is to promote the professionalism of local women and increase the stature of women in business in the Forest of Dean.

We meet once a month usually for an informal friendly lunch. This provides a framework for sharing experiences, meeting friends and colleagues, and of course the potential for meeting new clients and forging strong business links. Each member is invited to give a short introduction on the products and services their company provides thus providing a platform for promoting their business. We welcome guests who wish to come along and see if they feel that the Forest of Dean Business Women’s Association would be of benefit to them.

If you would like additional information or advice please contact our Association Secretary, Teresa Owen by email or by phoning 01594 541899 .

Notes from the Chair

Where does the time go? Congratulations  and Happy Birthday to you all.
The June lunch was in recognition of 5 years of FODBWA being a thriving business women’s network which is an achievement in itself.
Thank you to all of those who attended and seeing so many members, guests, past and present was a real joy. It was also fitting for our founder Sue Smith to be there to join in the celebrations and see the launch of her latest book.
Our guest speaker Anita Syvret of Syvret Media was an inspiration and I know gave away some real golden nuggets on how to make the media work for us. Looking forward to a flood of news stories of entrepreneurial business women!!
Anita kindly has sent presentation notes which you will find on the site.
July will see yet another exciting presentation. This time from Kim O’Rourke from Merrie Marketing on how to keep all those plates spinning in your business all at the same time. It will be interactive and very informative so not to be missed.
I do hope you are enjoying the summer and that business is flourishing. Please don’t forget that FODBWA is a support network as well as a business one, so if you do have any issues or things are just not going to plan don’t hesitate to contact me or any of the members to ask for help, guidance or just an ear that can listen. “We work together for each other”
Till next time ladies have fun and keep networking!!

“Four Simple Strategies On How To Thrive Being a Woman Juggler”

Are you a woman who “does it all”?  You run a home, do the school run, feed the family, do the shopping, do the cleaning, get the plumber in, get the cat to the vets, pull up the weeds, ensure the bills are paid, book the car in for its service…and that’s all before you’ve even got to running your business!  You’re pulled in sorts of directions physically AND emotionally…probably wondering if it’s all worth it when you collapse, exhausted, into bed at the end of the day!  I will be giving you four very simple strategies that you can put into action straight away to help you thrive in your life as a woman juggler (the one who “does it all”) so that you can grow your business with less stress, more ease and far more confidence.  (Oh, and learn how to get more clients almost immediately with one simple ‘little’ marketing secret..and it’s free!)

I’m Kim O’Rourke and specialise in coaching effective marketing and business strategies to the growing number of home business owners who work in the direct sales, network marketing and party plan industries.  http://www.marketing-your-network-marketing-business.com
